Process - Challenges
At the beginning, I tried to use resin to make the hologram. However, the texture of it can be bent easily, maybe I didn’t mix the accurate proportions of it. And it can only provide low reflectivity since the bubbles occur while I pour the resin on the surface of the plastic sheet.
Implementation methodologies
After having such problems, I decide to be using materials that I know are reliable and that are not going to create any further stress as I try to de-stress of creating this artwork. Therefore, I directly used the plastic sheets to create the hologram after cutting the needed shapes. Besides, the reason I made its shape as pyramid is because this can show 4 different views of my theme objects at the same time. It would be more stunning.
Process – Shooting
To shoot my footage, I went to different parks, looking for flowers I want. To highlight the theme of the flowers, I held a black cardboard at the back of them while I were shooting , so the theme subjects can be highlighted. As you can see, I capture 4 different views of the similar subjects because instead of just putting the same images in 4 panels at the final outcome (like what you can commonly find on YouTube), I would put 4 different footages to the hologram panels at the same time.
These photos are the 4 stages of flowers within the same specie.
â–¶ Shooting for long periods
â–¶ Looking for aesthetic flowers
â–¶ I need to shoot in a right angle (avoiding direct sun)
â–¶ Shaky hands (shooting while holding the cardboard)
The most challenging part of this stage is that the photos are always out of focus and the direct sun sometimes gave me harsh results.

Here are some out of focus images:
Process – Video making
Photoshop – making four separate panels

My video have four panels so that you can see from all four sides of the hologram pyramid.
To do this, I will first need a guide – I draw a big perpendicular cross and put it in the middle of the square base so that the space is divided into four separate panels that I can work with in After Effects.
Photo retouching

Also, I need to fine tune the colors and contrast of my photos one by one in Lightroom to achieve unity and harmony. Since the black cardboard is not big enough, I remove unwanted edges of some photos in Photoshop with the Clone Stamp tool

Finally, I create the overlaying effects on the composition of my footage so that it looks stunning and lively.
Video documentation
Setup
â–¶ Arduino components
â–¶ Pyramid hologram
â–¶ iPad

To make the video demonstration, I try my best to make a rotary display base using Arduino components. Actually, I don’t need this setup if I look at it personally but I want you guys can see what it will be look like through a video and to explore the full 360 degrees.
